Educating children with medical conditions in the Netherlands.
Members from right across Europe and beyond come together to share experiences, methodology and innovative practice to improve the lives of children and young people affected by chronic and acute illness. By sharing how we work we learn from each other and help foster understanding and innovation.
Our Dutch colleagues have recently made a film that details how the education system in The Netherlands ensures that children and young people don’t miss out on education even when they can’t make it into school. The film gives an insight into how Matteo and Isa carry on learning and remain part of their school community even when they’re away from school. It also shows the collaborative work that goes into making sure that each child or young person gets what they need should their health mean learning is interrupted by hospital admissions or time spent at home.
