Here are some Art, Drama and Music Resources we think can supplement the work many schools are providing. We will be reviewing and adding to this resource list over the coming weeks.

Art

The National Gallery has resources suitable for secondary aged students which include video clips that explore individual paintings, genres and themes.

Tate gallery has a range of practical and informative activities suitable for all ages based on Impressionism and Pop Art which are both are engaging and accessible. Information about a range of artists is informative and clearly laid out.

National Portrait Gallery has an interesting resource for secondary age students looking at portraiture through exploration of themes of identity, gender, race and class.

Drama

The National Theatre is making some of their recorded live streaming productions available for viewing at home. They include productions of Jane Eyre, Treasure Island and Twelfth Night. Teachers can also sign up for access to additional productions. More information can be found here

The Royal Opera House has developed a range of activities designed for families to get involved with while learning at home. They will add to the site each week with new activities based around theatre, dancing and singing. Additionally, 'Challenge of the Week', invites you to share your work with them on social media using #ourhousetoyourhouse The activities identify a suggested age range and the required resources. Many use video clips to explore ideas in an accessible and engaging way.

Music

Ableton have produced a step by step approach to creating electronic music. It’s both accessible and fun. As well as providing tools to create musical pieces the resource supports the learning of musical terms as the student develops their understanding of the components required to create an interesting mix of sounds in their compositions.

Birmingham Contemporary Music Group have launched a resource pack for KS1 and KS2 students o help undertake Arts Awards from home. Arts Award with BCMG is a set of resources for children completing their Discover or Explore Arts Award. Through the activities and guidance students will be able to complete their Arts Award at home. there is a small charge for accreditation.
